Al Firdaus Ensemble Retreat
Five days of sacred music and Andalusian heritage: the seven maqāms, the Qasīda al-Burda, percussion, and flamenco fusion in the mountains of Granada.
Azahara was born from a longing to return to what truly matters. Hidden among the terraced valleys of Andalusia's Alpujarras, we are a living sanctuary where faith, nature, and community are woven into everyday life.
Since 2018 (1439 AH), we have been restoring more than land — we have been cultivating a place where people can slow down, reconnect with the Creator, and rediscover the beauty of simple, purposeful living. Here, Andalusia's rich heritage is not preserved behind glass, but lived each day through the land, the people, and the rhythm of life.
Our purpose is to deepen connection to the Creator through four core pillars that define the Spiritual Ecology of Al-Andalus.

We practice a form of earth stewardship rooted in the principle of Khilafah. We don't just grow organic crops; we actively restore the land using 7th-century irrigation systems, recognizing that harvesting is an act of worship and a connection to the Creator.

From local wisdom to global scholarship, we host teachers who facilitate a rich heritage of sacred and practical knowledge, helping guests move from urban burnout to spiritual presence.

Faith is realized through action. Our Khidma Programme enables individuals to grow as caretakers of the earth through conscious work, allowing guests to step out of busy minds and into hands-in-the-soil connection.

We cultivate authentic Suhba in nature. We foster a warm, inclusive, and global fellowship where generations mingle, stories are shared, and every visitor is welcomed exactly as they are.
